Friday, August 8 - A trip to Florida/Georgia

Our flight into Jacksonville was eventful, to say the least. We were almost to Jacksonville, when the pilot came on the loud speaker to inform us that the seal around the windshield of the plane had come unsealed. We would have to make a stop in Houston to get it fixed. We landed in Houston at the same time we should have been landing in Jacksonville. They attempted to fix the plane, but couldn't, so put us on another plane. We waited on the runway for 20 minutes, before the pilot assured us we would be out of there in 10 minutes. Another 40 minutes went by and the pilot announced that part of our plane had fallen OFF on the runway! So, we went back to the airport to get it fixed. We could see why the plane we were on hadn't been being used since the air conditioning didn't seem to work. After another 15 minutes at the gate, with them fixing the plane and another 30 minutes waiting our turn on the runway, we finally took off. We arrived in Jacksonville 5 hours late. Not so fun with a 13 month old, cooped up on a teeny plane. The plane was the smallest any of us had ever flown on, 1 seat on one side of the aisle and 2 on the other.

Lias having an apple at the Houston airport.

Lias was SO good the entire trip. He slept for a good part of it, which helped with his ansy-ness.

I love the many faces of Lias. Check out his expressions...

Taking yet another nap.
